Washington, D.C., June 19, 2018:
The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) is pleased to be partnering with Axxess and corecubed on an exciting new podcast series called “Help Choose Home.” This podcast component of a national digital grassroots campaign aims to educate consumers and professionals about the options to choose in-home care.
The focus IS the consumer of care, or the referrer to care. Resources (beginning with this podcast) are available for you to share in your eNewsletters, on your social media, and with ALL your staff who might also want to share.

As NAHC members know, research shows that health outcomes are demonstrably improved when patients recuperate at home. The aim of Help Choose Home is to initiate a national conversation about the choice to receive care in the home and age in place. Our goal is to make home a first choice option in the minds of healthcare professionals, social service providers, insurers, and most importantly, individuals and families.
The ongoing series is hosted by Merrily Orsini, President and CEO of corecubed, an Asheville-based in-home care marketing company. New episodes feature interviews with experts from all areas of the healthcare at home industry who explore such issues as knowing the difference between who is appropriate for home care and who is not, the many models of in-home care and who pays for each, and how the industry is regulated.
“More than 90 percent of older adults released from hospitals and other healthcare facilities are appropriate for in-home care,” Help Choose Home host Orsini explains. “But many patients who need care after an inpatient stay are sent to nursing homes or rehab facilities instead of home with care services coming to them.”
Join NAHC, Axxess and corecubed in our effort to bring a greater awareness of and excitement for home care to the general public and health professionals. Help us to educate and empower families. Get involved, connect, and be a part of helping others to help choose home!
